Urine and fecal analyses are valuable in confirming a diagnosis and determining what medications should be used to treat the underlying causes of the problem at hand.
They are not recommended yearly for every animal. It is best to talk with your doctor to see if these tests are needed on a regular basis. If you notice changes in your dog’s bowel movements, it might be wise to collect a sample and ask your vet if it needs to be tested.
