Wellness care is an integral part of the overall well being of your pet. Through it our team can assess the general health of your pet and detect diseases at early stages which makes treatment and management of a given medical condition easier and more successful.
Vaccination is an easy way to protect your pet against many diseases, some of which are widely spread in Jordan. Keep in mind that vaccination does not guarantee that your pet won’t be affected by 100%, but they do lower the chances of getting certain diseases and if they get sick, chances of recovery are higher compared to animals that are not vaccinated.
They are an important factor in combating certain viral diseases such as parvovirus, distemper, parainfluenza, and rabies.
We recommend starting the vaccination programme of your puppy as soon as he/she is at an appropriate age, usually at the age of 8 weeks. In some cases this can be done earlier using specific types of vaccines that can be given at an earlier age.
At the day of the vaccination, the veterinarian will perform a full physical examination to ensure your pet is in optimal health so the body can benefit from the vaccination and trigger a normal immune response and build the desired antibodies.
Depending on the nature of the vaccine, it is given as an injection under the skin or as a nasal spray directly into the nostrils.
Vaccinations are accompanied by a consultation and examination with our veterinarians to make certain that your pet's condition is stable enough to receive them. Proper and timely administration is necessary to ensure optimal protection.
Microchip is a very small device that is placed under the skin of your pet. It has a unique 15 digit serial number that can be scanned. It is a reliable method to prove ownership and your pet can not travel abroad if not microchipped.
Microchipping is a fast noninvasive procedure that can be done at any of the wellness visits to the clinic.
We recommend that your pet visits the clinic for wellness exams twice a year. The first one can be done at the time of the annual vaccination, the other one after 6 months.
This way our team will ensure that your pet is in good general health. If you have any concern you can discuss it with our team members. If the veterinarian detects any worrying symptoms, further investigation will be needed.
Early disease detection is very important and can aid in better management strategies and treatment outcomes tend to be more favorable. This will ensure that your pet has a healthy and happy life.
Every life stage has its specific needs and demands and disease susceptibility also changes with the different life stages.
Parasites can be found almost everywhere around us. They can infest our pets and cause irritation and in some cases more serious medical problems. The good thing is this can be prevented in a few easy measures that are done on a regular basis.
Parasites can affect our pets both externally and internally.
External parasites such as ticks, fleas and other mange causing microscopic parasites (e.g. demodex) can be contacted directly from the environment. Spring and summer seasons tend to cause higher infestation rates although those parasites can be present all year round, thus we do recommend all year round prevention.
There are different products available to protect against external parasite infestation. Your veterinarian will decide what is the most appropriate one for your pet.
Internal parasites are another problematic issue that can cause further diseases if your pet gets them. Examples include tapeworms. whipworms , heartworms and roundworms. We do recommend regular deworming to protect your pet.
